In 2008 I began working with newly developed large-scale digital printing technologies to produce photographs that extended far beyond traditional gallery walls. The gallery above presents documentation of four public installations:
1) The Last Day of Work – Mount Dennis Library, Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival (Toronto 2023)
2) The New Suburb: Landmarks – The Artport (Toronto 2014)
3) Photographic Proof, The Canadian Centre for Architecture, Le Mois de le Photo/Momenta (Montreal 2009)
4) Still Revolution – The Museum of Contemporary Art, Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival (Toronto 2008)
These public installations were created with the objective of exploring photography’s new presence in public spaces, allowing me to employ the interior and exterior walls of buildings as the image substrate while redefining my relationship with the audience. Since then, I have continued to find new ways to use this form both inside and outside the gallery setting.
